The Challenge
Gaze intense,
he plucks the strings
intending to shock,
excite, start a rebellion
forcing his hometown
to see him as a young man
filled with ideas, life, and passion!
Hendrix fills the air.
The young girls scream.
The young girls scream.
Women sigh, remembering.
Men narrow greying eyes
Men narrow greying eyes
remembering, too,
vowing
to keep a close eye
on their daughters.
on their daughters.

My son LOVES Hendrix and I have to say I appreciate his amazing talent on the guitar... but he should have never tried to sing! (sorry)
This is for this week's "In Tandem". Jinksy was kind enough to once again use two of my watercolors. Click on the link to see the other one and read the other poems for the prompts.
This is actually the second version of this poem. I reduced it to 55 words and I think it reads a bit better this way AND it also can now be linked to "Friday Flash 55" ... a story in 55 words!

Time is no problem - all the Tandems remain there to be used at anytime anyone cares to hop aboard! Thank you for allowing me to use the pictures. :)
oh, this was great! enjoyed that!
Very nicely done Margaret!
Very funny!
"Lock up your daughters and hide the silver away. The rock 'n roll cowboys..." Are ready to ride again,I think the line continues.
Great painting. Looks like Rob Lowe and Billy Idol's son. :)
Love you!!

Jimi - what a gr8 55
Ha..ha.. nice one.
Happy Friday ~
haha yes you better watch your daughters when the man with the guitar comes to town...
Margaret Bednar...
Every stop here elicites a barrage of artistic beauty that numbs the senses!
Fantastic post
Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your talented offerings.
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
Who draws the crows and plays so loud? Who's gonna steal the show? It's the guitar man! :)
The rebellious young man seeking to start a revolution will himself become the middle aged man guarding his daughters, unless he ends up like Jimi. Life is funny that way.
"You better watch out"- Hendrix, your
kids-& it is that time of year!
cool.
You paint of perfect picture. He's all flash and show, mesmerizing the audience but there always seems to be a blueness to the big rock stars. Love your art.
This is really doing a talented work. I like it nice creation.

LOL about Jimi Hendrix and singing. But I do like your poem about him. :)
doesn't seem like guitarists start rebellions anymore, does it?
