Sweet Addiction
A scarlet dream is tempting me
so softly, gently it endures
of memories, like potpourri
A scarlet dream is tempting me
my past, my love, this cannot be
eternally my heart is yours
A scarlet dream is tempting me
so softly, gently it endures.

I wrote this a few years ago - I did change the title. This is linked with "Imaginary Garden with Real Toads - Artistic Interpretations - Art with Toril". I am hosting this challenge and invite you to click on the link above and visit the other poets and view more of Toril's amazing artwork.

for some reason i can not see the art...i just get a white box...our past can seem so tempting at times...i was just talking to another about how alluring the good ole days seem at times...easier...though i think memory loses its edges as we let go the bad and keep the good...
The image works for me, Brian. Probably all this lovely weather at work ...
Your lines echo as softly as the colors in this, Margaret--this was my favorite image of the lot.
Such beauty...............the refrain is an added sweetness:)
This would be a very intriguing message, if the missing "t" in the final refrain were intentional, but it likely is not: "A scarlet dream is temping me"
I'm envisioning your dream taking your place, if only for a short while, in the realm of reality. I love this.
This is so rhythmic...feels like a poppy field swaying looks like.
I love a perfect triolet. The way the repeated lines keep changing meaning is the best indicator, so very well done
This is filled with a mood of gentle romance.
Love your triolet, Margaret!
Lovely sway to this, Margaret!
"A scarlet dream is tempting me"... beautiful picture and perfect line for it.
finely etched, Margaret ~
Ha--it feels very illicit! k .
Scarlet dreams are beautiful :-)
Beautiful...I don't know what the title was before, but this title works wonderfully. Thanks for hosting this. This artwork is so inspiring.
