"So much for 18th century proverbs…"

White-breasted Nuthatch

"The Nuthatch"

Early to bed,
early to rise,
he's been advised

Even believes
early bird
catches the worm

But who cares
when the seed man
arrives at two?

White-breasted Nuthatch

This is linked with dVerse - Poetics "Winners & Losers".  So… is this cute little Nuthatch a winner?

Yes, I would say the nuthatch is a winner indeed. Smiles.

This made me smile. I have improved but if my getting up inclination defines me, I am definitely a loser.

Ah.. to be a bird and not worry where the next seed is coming from and just do it to get it..
is to get now..
and live now..
just to get now.. as everlasting seed
of now..:)

Very clever! And indeed, those early to rise sometimes get eaten by a prowling cat who has the advantage of darkness...

It’s a winner. definitely. Particularly as he has feed on tap without having to hunt for it.

How lovely, M., to stumble upon the simple joys within a clever parable. Sure, the Nuthatch is both winner & survivor, & you were/are the enabler; lots of fun too. Thanks for being brave & trudging through my always verbose & lengthy pieces; cool.

Precisely Margaret, who would care when dinner arrives punctually. Beautifully written.

If one is overly concerned then the world slows its movement. If the bull is taken by the horn a lot can be accomplished! Nicely Marge!
