Unpretentious
I long for a window open
to grey mornings and bird-song
where heat
trickles in upon ocean's breeze
and afternoon storms
circle, swirl,
wash songs of ancient wayfarers
to sandy shores
where life's complexity and beauty
I hold in my hand
unpolished.

lovely and peaceful.
Your poetic skill in fastening on the small, yet essential facets of life, is so evident in this poem, Margaret. It shines.
Love the poem and the shot that you have with it is just perfect. This says so much in so few words.... ahhhh, poetry!

Sooo pretty, Margaret. I was there for every bit of that. (Actually I have been in person a few times. But no place where the large shells are so plentiful.)
