Embolden
No warble, no quiver
of branch or wind,
an earthly static
forewarns…
Far better to heed
nature's lesson,
embolden a girl's mind
to take wing and sing.

This is for Imaginary Garden with Real Toads "Avant-Edge - Innocense & Experience, hosted by Sam Edge. We are to something we are passionate about and write about it.
I have four daughters and I believe in empowering girls with the knowledge that their minds, their talents, their abilities are important. There may come a time that one has to put personal pursuits on hold, but NEVER allow their voice to become inconsequential, silenced.
For the month of April, I am participating in NaPoWriMo2014 or National Poetry Writing Month. The website is HERE.
In celebration of this year's challenge, I will be giving away a free book of my poetry. If you are interested in participating in this drawing, please click the red logo at the top of my side bar and leave your name and a means to reach (blog, email, etc) you in the comment section.
PLEASE INDICATE YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DRAWING OR I WILL ASSUME YOU ARE JUST COMMENTING. THANKS.

There is nothing more important in this time than to teach young girls to fly. I really like the way you have conveyed this message in short lines and sensory images.
Beautiful! Yes, we must train our children to fly into the world prepared~ Well Done
