Magpie Tales #123, "Futility"

Futility

We're gonna wait for crazy.
Stoke hatred
with taunts and jeers,
wash it down with whiskey shots,
stir troubles and woes
into frenzied pitch,
blame the bloke
across the room.
Prove we're brave and strong,
welcome crazy,
deny her presence,
pummel and beat
to the rhythm of the heat.

Stagger back and find
we've hurt our friend...
fix our hats, swig a beer,
promise to meet
same place, tomorrow night.

This is for The Mag #123, hosted by Tess Kincaid.  Hop on over and read the clever reactions to the above photo prompt.  Better yet, try a go at it yourself!

We're gonna wait for crazy, not sure why, but I really like that line! This was snappy, and excellent writing!

Great reveal of the culture of bars. I am not sure attendees wait for crazy but seek it out. But that is a good line.

Nice take on the prompt.

The old movie clip photo inspired the line "We're gonna wait for crazy" from "The Wild One" starring Marlon Brando. It inspired my write and does not reflect the movie as far as I know. I've never seen it. BUT, that will be remedied this weekend.

You have captured that blowsy scene very well.......lots of big talk in those places. Lots of "crazy" too:)

Somehow I think it might be whiskey straight...

When futility looms its ugly head, just wash it down with a whiskey shot! Yep, Love this! Woodford Reserve works well ........

Whiskey shots bring loose tongues and Dutch courage.

Dutch courage indeed, Bee's Blog. I love that! :)
