Illicit kisses
and passionate song
fill our nights
as we drown
in a seemingly endless
champagne ocean
of bubbles
senses intoxicated
until morning's light
spirits you away
leaving me gasping
for more.

'Fess up, Margaret. You're such a romantic. :)
Oh My- morning can be a dread- I usually have found the experience was worth it! thanks.
Yes, most likely a romantic. But I originally went dark and sad with this and then challenged myself and tried not to go with the obvious. Tried to dig deeper... :)
Great take on the prompt. Love the ocean of champaign.
Illicit kisses ?? Cor!!
Romantic...mmm...
ooooh! I'm one for illicit kisses myself.....! Splendid poem!
ps.......I love your artwork and will visit often. Your daughter's drawing of your musical son is very endearing!
love your take on the intoxicating, drowning aspects of drink and delights....bkm
mmm...nice...try not to drown after that bit of heat...smiles.
Zowie. Nice take!
What a way to go, eh?
=)
A beautifully crafted poem, Margaret. It's everyone's fantasy dream.... to drown in love all night and be left gasping for more. It may well apply to art and poems too. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds heavenly.
Senses intoxicated in a champagne ocean sounds enticing.
I can relate to the sensual write....this is beautifully done.
I like the way you have interpreted this most intriguing picture - passionately written with the lightest touch in the free verse style.
I enjoyed this write; and this kind of 'drowning' seems (ummm) rather (!) pleasant!
Lovely and expressive! An unexpected response to ths photo --- therein lies its delight!
Splendid - I especially like the idea of vats of champagne!
Thank you everyone. I have been a bit lax in getting around to blog viewing and commenting as we are involved with a theatre play last week and this. Check my Saturday post out ... I have photos of my husband in "Nunsense Amen".
