"All Dressed Up...", 74/365

I got all dressed up this weekend and had someplace to go!  My husband and I danced and danced at a Christmas party and really enjoyed ourselves. It has been a long time since we have danced and laughed so much.  Rockin' Robin is the song that got us out on the dance floor.

We also bid and won dance lessons with the Fred Astaire Dance Studio.  When we lived in Petoskey, MI, once a month we went swing dancing and what fun we had.  We hope to re-establish that here in NC very soon.  After all, my jewelry has hung around long enough and is screaming to be worn.

Yay! That sounds wonderful.

Love the shoes. If they were on my feet though, they'd have come off for the dancing. :)

I was gonna say (following sister Ruth)...how can you dance in those?! But I bet you did and enjoyed every minute of it. Astrid and I dance every evening at the end of supper. It's become our daily ritual, which if we miss, we really miss it! How fun that you bid on and won dance lessons. Congratulations. Keep dancing. I have made Astrid promise that if I ever get Alzheimer's (like Mom), she must continue to dance with me!

I tried the link to the video, but it said "Video unavailable."

Ruth & Ginnie - "confession" time ... I never said I danced in those shoes, I just wore them with the outfit. I am old enough to know better - or maybe I should say, my feet are too old to withstand such torture. They came off just before the very fist dance. :)

Ginnie - that is so awesome that you make a point to dance every night. I am convinced that dancing, in some cases, would be more beneficial than couples therapy. One is holding their partner, communicating, connecting in a way that (I hope) creates a togetherness like no other. I think it had been over three years since we had danced together - what with the baby, the move, the new job... We used to dance at once or twice a month for years - and it is about time we do it again. I would like to think dancing can be enjoyed well into Alzheimer's - that awful disease touches so many families and is tragic beyond words.

Rock on, Margaret!

WOW. John is the guy on the dance floor that makes everyone else disappear. He's fantastic! I am very impressed. And boy, is he cute! You sure you want to show him off like that?

;-)

Ruth, thanks but I withdrew the video because it seemed to link up to my facebook... and I like to keep that private. I will put it back if I can find the SD chip I taped it on in the first place. Yes, John is fun to dance with and I take comfort in the fact that even though he does draw a lot of attention, most people are focused on him and not me - I can't dance nearly as good... but I have fun.
