The Haiku is for Sunday Scribblings Challenge #249, theme: A walk in the park.  I also submitted the Haiku to Monday One Stop Poetry Form. The top photo is for "Partially Seen in January".  I also entered in Lisa Gordon's "Creative Exchange".  These past few days, we have enjoyed the warm weather (We who were born & raised in the North think anything above 32 degrees in January is a heat wave) before the expected snow storm hits tomorrow afternoon.  This historic park was once a battlefield where many men lost their lives - beloved husbands, brothers, sons.

My three year old son loves pausing to look at the educational posts along the trail with pictures of soldiers, bayonets, and guns as well as the statues of men holding swords.  He is fascinated by these; I hurry him along by saying we need to go feed the ducks.

I would love to get back here if it snows and see how this is transformed.  But over the past few days, we have enjoyed leisurely walks, with no bloodshed other than a scraped hand.  (The photo above was submitted for Macro Monday)
