Cathedral fading
Heart pounding, feet sore, veil torn
Future full of hope

...or at least I thought it was a haiku! How opportune that the next posting on One Stop Poetry was about... haikus. Please click HERE if you would like to learn more about the right and the wrong of this form of poetry.

The photo and haiku are both evocative, Margaret. So much life happens outside the veil. And along that line, I also like the modern haiku that are less structured, without syllable counting, that break the rules.
May the week of "back to school" be a smooth and beautiful transition!
what a great shot especially in black and white and I love your haiku
I love seeing you have so much fun with your writing, Margaret. :)
That gal needs a cold drink!
Thanks so much for your visit and kind comment at my blog. I appreciate it!
Image in the words, not words for the image. Great
here is the link to the flickr group, sorry about that it was embedded in the text, changing my font etc has got me all confused!

Beautiful haiku and such a great shot!
beautiful and unique
Love the title! Poem leads me to believe she runs toward her future. Nice poem!
i like your take on this with the runaway bride...really enjoyed this....pete
Thank you, everyone, for your encouraging words on my "runaway bride" haiku. I almost deleted it because it seems to break all the rules except that it has 17 syllables! I even gave it a title - major "no-no" I have come to find out. So maybe I won't call it a haiku. I will call it "my 17 syllable poem" :)
Great Haiku-style poem, Margaret. Goes well with the photo. Wishing you a prosperous and healthy 2011; if I haven't already.
Carol - Happy New Year to you too! Poetry is fun - I think it is a natural extension of photography - there are reasons you are attracted to the images in the first place - putting them into words is the next step, I guess.
