Late February

Awaiting the Cherry Blossoms...
Late February

Ice-blue eyes melt
as she softly blushes pink,
wraps herself in mourn's veiled mist.

Swollen streams caress her curves,
geese serenade upon arrival,

while returning songbirds
content themselves with preening
amongst camellia and bramble,

await crowning glory
of blooming cherry blossoms.

For Toni - an attempt at a haiku:

ice-blue gaze cracks
wrapped in mourn's veiled mist -
Geese serenade blushing blossoms

I love this glimpse of full spring. I can smell the flowers in the air. Thank you for following the prompt and keeping it brief. Thank you for this happy poem.

The final stanza reads like a crown, indeed. Lovely.

I love how you included the last part, the waiting can be the most glorious part of it all.

Love, female and male versions. Love it, Margaret. Sensuous too first half. BTW, the Texas Bluebonnets will wait until mid March or later. I'll find some for you.

A beautiful sensual personification of Nature, Margaret! I’ve been watching her this morning, blushing pink and wrapped in mist. I love the haiku version.
