The Dogwood
A vixen's arm extends,
invites me to dance,
scent intoxicates.
Too long, I hesitate,
unparalleled beauty
accepted by another.
Shallowness excused
as I watch her youthful form
waltz upon the breeze,
pink taffeta gown afloat
as dandy Warbler sings
and woos with charm, with grace,
eyes her dance card,
the next honor reserved
for a handsome chap
dressed in fashionable red.

"HERE" is a nice photo of a cardinal in a blossoming pink dogwood tree (I think it's a dogwood?) This is for "Poetry Jam - Poetry of Dance". Truly, nature dances... doesn't it?

Oh, yes... definitely! Nature dances and sings in the most beautiful of gowns.
Ah yes, if only that dance could play out right here where my world is. Very inviting place to be, your nature is bursting with hope!
Last March, it was so warm here in Michigan that the dogwoods bloomed. Then it froze one night and all the blossoms turned brown overnight, which was really sad. This year, it won't stop snowing, or hit 40 degrees! I'm tired of it!
Oh, I do love this dance!
smiles...they are a beautiful tree...and between it and the cherry blossoms...ah they def make me want to do the spring dance....lovely write margaret....
How heavenly and dreamy, so much texture and joyous dizziness! Thank you again Margaret ~Blessings Deborah
Beware of dancing vixens, they always lead to trouble. But what a fun ride.

Beauty is thy middle name..:-)
Waltz upon the breeze - I love this picture and the freedom of the words, well done.
Don't you just love Spring? I can tell you do. What a lovely ode to blossoming life.
