The Mag #146, "Smitten"

"Object to be Destroyed" by Man Ray

Smitten

I appear
the consummate player,

never letting on
I'm counting

the seconds, minutes,
hours, since you left,

our tempo still sweet
upon my tongue.

I remain silent, as this
would render me pathetic.

LOVE the December header!!

When that 'tempo' goes off beat, pathetic is usually the resulting emotion! (at least for me)

You did this so well, the secret yearning, the movement of time..

a very succulent tempo it must be. while silence seems like a just route, I wonder if not speaking up is more pathetic.

you really transformed this image well.
