Magpie Tales 131 "River Thames" & IGWRT's Open Link Monday

Under Windsor Bridge, 1912, by Adolphe Valette
River Thames

Whether morn or dusk
she captivates

lures me to her side,
moist breath upon my neck;

her dirty ways, seductive.
Makes me feel

a bit mysterious,
even dangerous.

I would love to walk over the Windsor pedestrian bridge and see the sights of London!  For this poem, I channeled a bit of Bond, a bit of Holmes - two GREAT characters of which I will never tire.

This is linked with The Mag #131 (using the picture prompt above) and to Imaginary Garden with Real Toad's Open Link Monday.

And a doodle...

Excellent artwork too! I rather enjoy living mysteriously and with a bit of danger too! Nice read!

I too would love to walk across that bridge. My oldest daughter went to London last month. She wanted to go and she went all by herself...she loved it. Oh to be a bit mysterious..I wonder if it is too late.

I really dig your ending. Isn't it interesting that the way others see us can completely alter the way we see ourselves?

Love this:
"moist breath upon my neck;
her dirty ways, seductive"

Great that Thames is feminine, i guess it means " Themis" , the titaness. ?

I was about to say great setting for a film, when you brought up Bond and Holmes. Of course! I like the sketch too--as light and affective as the poem.

I've walked along the Thames many times ... never over it! Your poem is gorgeous.
