Magnolia Leaf, 121 & 122/365

The photo above is for Macro Monday#123.  The one below is for "Patterns & Repetition in February".  One of my favorite trees here in the south is the Magnolia tree.  I do look forward to the fabulous white flower, but for now I do think the colors of the leaves are splendid.  I love the repeating pattern in each leaf and the leaves themselves.

Splendid shots, Margaret. Looks like a fine leather.

Extremely tactile, those leathery leaves.
Like holding hands with somebody wearing leather gloves :-)
Nice strong images.

Oh, I love magnolias. It is one of the things I miss the most about the south. They are so beautiful.

Carol & Joco - they are such a thick leaf. I was also shocked to find what huge trees they grow into!

Justine - I am so surprised how grand I think they look during this "winter" time. I felt so sad when the white flowers fell off, but right now their redish undersides are so beautiful.

Gina & Patty Ann - Thanks. I'd LOVE to plant one tree on our property!

Lovely details of the magnolia leaf. In a couple of months, they'll be blooming once again.

Kala, Clara & Vicki - I adore these trees - Are the white flowers called flowers or blooms? These trees are so amazingly BIG! And I think they bloom twice? I think that is what I noticed our first year here...
