Friday Flash 55, "All's Fair in Love and War"

All's Fair in Love and War

Some men notice breasts first, others, legs.
His weakness: eyes.
The evening she met "Dr. Right"
he confessed he believed
in love at first sight, whispering,
"I adore your Audrey Hepburn eyes and lashes".

Preparing for their third date,
the mirror reflected worried baby blues.
Sighing, she opened the makeup drawer
for the necessary deception.

This is my first contribution to Friday Flash 55.  Tell a story in 55 words or less - and it is not easy!  Click HERE to be transported to G-Man's (aka "Mr. Know It All") Blog to read more short stories.

You'd think some men would look beyond the surface. And yet they don't.

Ruth, thank you! I have just finished one for next Friday. I think it is pretty funny. I have started a new blog (!!) to keep my creative writing separate from my poetry and photography. Hope you can catch it every now and then and let me know what you think. I think the conversations with Rilke are getting beyond me... I will continue to read them and the fun comments. I find myself understanding them differently at times and don't want to be a cog in the wheel... :)
