"Vintage" a Haiku

Vintage wooden beams
Crafted by snow, wind and rain
History reclaimed

I love when I find something made from restored wood and tiles.  I hope the dwelling and barn (love the hint of red still on the barn door) have something left worthy of rescuing.   The barn roof looks like it is holding up OK, so maybe it will be around for quite a while longer... not so sure about the house.

HERE is another poem by Glynn Young of Faith, Fiction, Friends that I think goes quite well with these photos.

The above photo is for "Partially Seen in January".  The same old home is below, but from a different angle.

This old abandoned farm still has cattle grazing in the field during the summer, but obviously it hasn't been a home for some time.  These photos were taken the end of July, 2010 while driving in the beautiful countryside of Petoskey, MI.

Love the old barns, it is so sad when you find
places abandoned though-
When we drove across country years ago, we passed quite a few...I love it when you see barns converted into useful space; or just preserved for their own sake! Thanks.

Izzy, Nance & Rajlakshmi - Old barns, victorian homes and covered bridges. I just love the nostalgia they evoke. Thank you for visiting and enjoying the photos and poetry!

Ginnie - I really want to go back and explore this one a bit more next time I'm in Petoskey. Get some close up shots.
