The Red Barn with Windmill, 71/365

This Red Barn resides in Petoskey, MI.  It is tucked away along a hilly, winding country road with a number of exquisite farm houses and barns.  Not far from this red beauty, early one morning a goat was wandering along the roadside.  My elegant friend, attired with high heels and nice dress got out of her car to help the goat back into its pen.  The goat did not take kindly to her and lowered his head and advanced.  She wrapped her hands around its long curving horns as it backed her into the side of her car.  She started screaming for help.  A business man in a Honda Accord drove by, another  in a Mercedes... so much for chivalry!  Her high heels were dug into the gravel, fighting for a firm hold and her dress was riding up her backside as it rubbed against her car.  Finally a woman came out of the farm house and gruffly asked my friend what she had been doing.  The goat swung around and trotted happily back into its pasture.  Shaking like a leaf, I think the only thing my friend did was high-tail it to her car.

When she told me this story, I almost cried with laughter.  Oh why can't I capture on film a "moment in time" like that!  And I PROMISE... I would have helped her after I took a few photos... :)

The above is not one I took today, but I am adding it to my daily photo tally.  It goes with the two previous posts, I think, and my photos the past few days have been a bit boring.

What a hilarious picture you paint. You are a saucy, naughty person (like myself) knowing you would HAVE TO get a picture before you could help! :-)

Your photograph is just beautiful. I would proudly hang that on a wall. Great work!

What a sensational photo, Margaret! Like Bonnie, I would be happy to have this one framed and on my wall. The story of your friend's encounter with the goat is priceless! Have a good weekend.

Oh my Margaret, this is not a boring photo, trust me on that. I love it. May I have your permission to paint it in watercolors?

Bonnie, I JUST might hang this photo up - rotate it with seasonal photos... thanks for the idea.

George, If you only knew my friend, it would be even more hysterical. She is a take charge woman who never is at a loss for words! Glad you enjoyed the retelling!

Carol, This photo is here because the ones I had taken of our neighborhood were so blah. And YES, please do paint it!! I want to see it when you are done. :)

HA! What a great story...after the fact. And the barn with windmill isn't bad either! :)

Ginnie -Glad you liked the story. I grew up with a couple of goats and know they can be obstinate. Always approach a goat with caution...
