Inspiration

 Inspiration

Upon a chin of gold
you sit,
not man,
but madonna
of twinkling sky,
birthplace
of dogmas
and devotion,
of blue-lit nights
and silver stars
sprinkled
upon mortal souls,

you smile,
as I, below,
seek answers,
grasp inspiration -
pledge to go,
to be, to live.

It is also a part of my Emily Dickensin reflection series -  "The Moon, by Emily Dickinson"

It's been a long time since I have written a poem as I've been focusing on my mixed media/collage art.  I hope to be back here writing regularly.

The moon is such an inspiration... personally I have always thought of the moon more like silver than gold... but I like the way you present her.

You've said it all, and said it so well.

One would never know from this that you haven't written a poem in a long time. I like madonna of twinkling sky. Thanks for visiting my blog too.
