Stars & Moonbeams
Winter's fast approaching
and what's left of Autumn gold
resides in tonight's evening sky
whose embers illuminate
flocks of southbound geese
slipstreaming their way into the night
where they will surf celestial stars
and wing their way through moonbeams.

Playing along with "dVerse Poetics - St. Lucy - Bringing light into the darkness". The photo I snapped tonight (it's two blended into one image) and knew I had to write a poem.

Beautiful image! I love those slipstreaming geese - that middle stanza is so quietly beautiful.
A lovely of your words Margaret.
Thanks for dropping by my blog.

Gorgeous images of those homeward bound geese!
I love the interplay play of stars, moonbeams and and slipstreaming geese in your poem, Margaret!
This is absolutely stunning, stunning work done, Margaret!! 😍😍
Lovely blending of your photography ... you are incredibly talented with a camera ... with poetry ... with all of your many artistic endeavors.
Very dreamy, very nice, Margaret.
I love the imagery... still for us in the far north it's a memory from the past. We have had new snow today.
Lovely! <3
Wonderful! I especially love "slipstreaming"...
Ooo, I really love that ending
"slipstreaming their way into the night
where they will surf celestial stars
and wing their way through moonbeams."
Brilliant!
It feels like the geese are taking autumn with them, and with it the light. Beautiful poem, Margaret.
