Red Roses (junk journal poems)

Red Roses

Long-stemmed and red
passion
he declares with a dozen, yet my eye also
delights
upon spying Forget Me Nots
recalls
his protection and care; thank my lucky stars
our life's
journey has been full of God's
blessings

by Margaret Bednar, February 25, 2021

This is a poem form called "Waltmarie" (10 lines, even lines are two syllables, odd lines are longer (but no specific syllable count).   Even lines make their own mini-poem if read separately.

"our life's journey has been full of God's blessings" indeed. We should take note. You did well with form, fun writing, huh?

Oh, that's so nicely done, and what a lovely message – with the mini poem deepening the original.

Oh what a cool format!! I love both the full poem and the shorter "secret" one.
