The Allegory
I imagine the Messiah will come
draped in luminous light,
will cast pernicious shadows aside
with ferocious winds.
I believe redemption will one day come,
will face this epochal moment with southern reserve.
As day's warmth covets my soul,
I lift chin, heavenward,
ocean breeze my afternoon salvation,
celestial cloud of creamy magnolia white
swathed above me. Surely the breath of eternal spring.

Linked with "dVerse Poetics - In Haphazard Fashion" a word list of which I used 7 of 12. My attempt to create some sort of cohesion amongst randomly selected words. The host, Anthony Desmond, loves abstract poetry and this was his little "shove" to do that… sorry - 'tis not my thing :) Hope you don't mind my more pulled together "painting". :)

I love the hopeful message of redemption and that ending line: Surely the breath of eternal spring ~
And that flower is so pretty ~
Ah yes, I do believe (as you said) we were writing on the same cloud! Someday we will experience that 'eternal spring.'
You'd never guess this wasn't your thing . . . such an inspired and cohesive write.
Ooo...I love the idea of an eternal spring and how lovely to be scented of magnolia clouds. Gorgeous work in both words and image, Margaret! :)
I have to agree with Kathryn. Your words are so well put.
creamy magnolia white swathed above me
like a celestial cloud... love that... and of course I don't mind if abstract isn't your thing... That's just the route I usually take... I try to make sure I give writer's full creative freedom and let them be the poet they want to be :) Thank you and your use of the words were awesome!
Margaret , this is just perfect. Flawless use of words to express such hope.
… changed it up a bit… took the "like" out of the line Anthony Desmond complimented and switched it around a bit. I THINK it reads better… ?
The. Way a Messiah will come in Magnolia white.. Yes it reads very good.. (When I can I always read the poems aloud)
There is a growth that descends upon us as we Accept the challenges of each new dVerse prompt; this poem is leagues beyond your own Assessment, and excellent use of the Words, and a nice spontaneous feel to it, thrust, flow; thanks.
Your poetry creates the vision to beautiful to paint. xo Jenny
I like your vision of redemption, Margaret, especially the way you include nature in your thoughts.
