I Heart Macro Challenge & dVerse - "Simplicity"

Simplicity

A fragrance
crushed, steamed,
dabbed behind an ear.

A beauty
domesticated, snipped,
arranged in Waterford Crystal.

An artistic statement
of love, passion,
absolute perfection.

A rare joy
to see a rose simply be
wild and free.

Your macro is wonderful; influenced by your title I saw the layers of simple petals, arranged in complex perfection. But I, also, love wild roses.

The poem, red roses growing wild, the rustic fencing ... this is just spectacular, Margaret.

So pretty, so true, Margaret.
I beieve things in nature are meant to remain "wild and free."
We could ask about the hybrids, especially roses and corn. Not really wild.

Love the photos and I agree it is so refreshing to see roses on their stems uncut and blooming in the sun.

Beautiful, Margaret... and so many just walk on by with their hectic schedules and never notice the beauty before them.

There IS definitely such beauty in a rose!

Lovely! Makes me want to find a rose and drink deep of its scent. I don't have any growing in the yard...but now I think I need to change that!

An amazing year for roses, and they are in blooming profusion in my yard! Knockouts, English roses, climbers, the prickly Rosa Rugosa (beach rose, though no beach here!) Mine are domesticated, to see one in the wild would be a treat indeed. Well penned, and loved your beautiful images shared.

very cool to see nature's beauty untamed and wild and free...i have an english rose garden close by and bought some really wonderful roses over the years..one grows into my pear tree and just covers it up with pink roses...it's breath taking...

Oooh, I so agree about the wild and free. My place has far too much shade and clay to ever attempt cultivated roses, but the wild ones hold their ground every year. Thanks for sharing.
