The Scryer
My little Nostradamus peers trance-like
into his own mirror of Galadriel
visions reflected for but a moment
before he's off throwing
a pebble into another scrying pool
changing the color, ebb, and flow
of nature's Magic 8-Ball
of fate once again.

Today I am linking this with dVerse Poet's Pub Open Link Night. I wrote this over a year ago.
Scrying - a magic practice of seeing things physically in a medium (cyrstal, stone, mirror, water, fire, smoke)
Nostradamus - A famous 16th century scryer.
Mirror of Galadriel - a basin filled with water in which one may see visions of the past present and future, appearing in The Lord of the Rings.

Oh, I remember that position so well. Must have a picture of our youngest somewhere just like that.
A drop of oil/petrol might make that puddle even more fascinating :-)
ha. i like...kids and mud puddles eh? i like the thought of them as scryer, conjuring the future...and then on to the next one...familiar image of my boys too...
I like how you include someone so young as a soothsayer. Great.

Something my boys used to do~ Now its my little girl, ha ~
Good one Margaret ~
Perfect.
This reminded me of my grandson. The picture is super cute. He's quite a scryer - the profession of most little boys.
A neat little scryer - look at that clean white coat!

Wonderful, and I've learned a new word. Thanks.
Lovely!
...aren't we all like that when reality is not yet discovered by fate & sing it before our tiny eyes? ha, loved this . ... smiles...
