Poetry Jam "The Guardian"

The Guardian

She guards her brother
with ancient eyes,

selfless in her quest
she'd break all the rules
to keep him safe.

'Tis a woman's heart
that beats so young

within her breast,
a warrior queen,
steadfast and oh, so true.

By Margaret Bednar, January 24, 2013

This is for "Poetry Jam - Breaking the rules".  I tried going into more detail, but it seemed to ruin the sweetness of it.

Margaret, this is very sweet. I think it is fine as is. You don't need any more detail to make your fine point. I appreciate the tightness in your poem!

Such beautiful children and beautiful pictures. I did not realize that you had six! Congrats. A lovely poem too - I was also very protective of my brother when young - though we also fought terribly. (Ha.) But it is a special love. k.

Margaret, I have so missed viewing your wonderful work, but I just haven't had the time to do a lot of "blog hopping". I love this post--beautiful photos to accompany lovely words. Your new profile pic is "gorgeous", and I love the description of your husband "calm captain"! I'll be back much more often. Mickie :)
