Barn Charm #115 "Jilted"

Jilted

December slants
her golden gaze,
heavy upon somnolent fields,
mumbling a promise
of steadfastness.

My tarnished heart
enjoys her fickle affection,
knowing full well
she'll soon be lured
by another's desire
further south,

leaving me to endure
January's loveless embrace,
her westerly wind caressing
with long frigid fingers.

You found a wonderful old barn. And you photographed it so beautifully.

I love this old bare tree, an old classic rusted tractor and nice autumn colors. This is incredibly beautiful picture!

And I love your poem. It's very beautiful and touching.

Amazing post!!!

The many 'arms' of the tree, the red door and vintage tractor are the charm in front of the otherwise nondescript barns.
Great find!

Your words wonderfully describe the beauty of that old and unnoticed beauty of the barn. Beautiful poem.

Having grown up in Michigan I suddenly had to laugh, Margaret...picturing all those senior citizens moving down to Florida for the winter. :)
