Jilted
December slants
her golden gaze,
heavy upon somnolent fields,
mumbling a promise
of steadfastness.
My tarnished heart
enjoys her fickle affection,
knowing full well
she'll soon be lured
by another's desire
further south,
leaving me to endure
January's loveless embrace,
her westerly wind caressing
with long frigid fingers.

You found a wonderful old barn. And you photographed it so beautifully.

I love the old tractor in the photo. Beautiful poem!
A beautiful story told ... loved the picture !!!
The many 'arms' of the tree, the red door and vintage tractor are the charm in front of the otherwise nondescript barns.
Great find!
Your words wonderfully describe the beauty of that old and unnoticed beauty of the barn. Beautiful poem.
