IGWRT's Fireblossom Friday "Easily Replaced"

My handsome Oberon
Easily Replaced

I wouldn't miss
your brown liquid eyes
upon me, your warm,
tender lips softly searching,
nibbling my shoulder,
seeking my caress.

I wouldn't miss
your adventurous spirit,
nor the way you light up
when you see me,
nor the way you listen
to my singing, content.

I wouldn't miss
the way you love me.

This is for "Imaginary Garden with Real Toads - Fireblossom Friday - Lie to me".  I JUST got back from a gorgeous day of horseback riding and I LOVE my Oberon so much.  I could never replace my little Quarter Horse.

This has NOTHING to do with the fact I carry treats on me.
Don't you LOVE his furry winter coat?  It's going to get even fuzzier soon.
Looking pretty cute in his cooling down blanket

Oh he is so lovely! One can infer the exact opposite of this poem in every line:) He is a sweet boy and looks so healthy and happy. Our old gal has Cushings and is getting thinner by the month. Poor girl.

That is one pampered creature, Margaret. He has you twisted around his fingers! HA!

Whew ! glad for a lie- done very well by the way!
My Chico is fuzzy too- I am still struggling to get a good photo of us both! He is going to have a jumping lesson with a friend today- just to give him a change of pace!

I can see why you love him so much!

I distrust people who can't love their animals with all their hearts, and I trust you, Margaret :)
Beautiful horse, beautiful Fall pics.

And now I love Oberon, too!
And I love that you penned a poem that could be written for nearly any loved one.

Of all the whoppers I read for this challenge, I think this is the biggest of them all! You lie like a rug, Margaret!

Oberon is beautiful, and I DO love his furry winter coat!

Margaret, my sister also loves horses and rides daily. This is one of the best of the "lie to me" poems I've read.

I won't give you mine because it was political, and I don't want to go there. Suffice it to say, this was a work of art. Amy

Sorry to be so late over here for FBF, Margaret. I love the approach you took, and the beautiful, character-filled portraits of your sweet horse. I have been thinking of you today, and knowing it must be a difficult day for you, and that it must be hard to feel that this is the right outcome in our election. I just hope that someday your side and my side can work together again, can admit that both sides love our country and want the best for it. And know I meant it when I said at my place that I believe your own beliefs to be as real and valid and important to you as mine are to me. Much love to you, Margaret, and great thanks for the sharing of your talent you do here.

There is, as many others have mentioned, a certain warmth (combined with the reserve of the intentional mis-truth) that adds a true charm to this piece. It's well-paced, and the use of repetition is very judicious. It's very nice writing.

I truly appreciate your kindness. I'm bouncing back. I believe it is possible for a compromise that will respect both sides. It will take a lot of give and take, and I believe the President MUST lead the way. I return the love and appreciate your wonderful commentaries and support in my attempts at poetry. I love all the Toads
