IGWRT's Out of Standard with Izy "Tis Art"

'Tis Art

I tell myself
"Tis a process of art

transferring a moment
from an image captured";

an image desirous of remaining
free of specific interpretation.

Illusive, like watercolor,
images saturate fragile paper

fighting for a breath of originality
as I over-think sentimentality.

Interested in hearing me read this poem?

Check this out on Chirbit

This is for Imaginary Garden With Real Toads:  Out of Standard with Izy - Parody!  The challenge is to write a poem which parodies my own style, structure or tone.  This was not easy and I erase many, many attempts.  Izzy... I am sorry I cursed your name not a few times last evening and this morning.  This attempt is well, my attempt.  :)

I also thought it would be fun to snag a few of my daughters iPhone photographs.  As I tend to still think about composition and light, etc., they just snap away and capture pure moments ... Ah, the impatience of youth pays off!  :)

Love this and your daughter's photos...my writing style is spontaneous...I am sure it would prove to be better if I used the delete button more often...lol

Lovely images. I think writing and photography has the same basis: of capturing and keeping a moment, no matter how blurred around the edges.

i LOVE the photo of the young lady sitting pondside. could have been me in my youth - long dark hair, spending hours down at mill creek in central wisconsin.

Wow, I never know what will provide inspiration for me ~~ you never seem to struggle with that.

Yes, I am very involved in community theatre ... backstage working crew. I do love helping make everything 'click.' And yes, I was very young and thoughtless when I 'lived for the moment.' (We all worked through it, forgiveness is precious!!) Very perceptive, Ms. Margaret!!

glorious, beautiful, the negotiations of an artist
to be may be enough
as you are original

I think you were not the only one cursing my name....but you did so well here. The purpose of the exercise was to give us an excuse to let loose on the page and not be afraid because within a parody, you are free to do whatever. This piece captures this spirit in spades. Onward and viva la

Hey, stop eating that tree! :-)

I like the one with the grass in the foreground and the cannons in the background. Proper perspective, if you ask me.

I love how you all seemingly feed off of each other in your family, Margaret. What a treasure!
