Magpie Tales #104 "Enslaved Addiction"

Vortex of desire
lingers dark upon my tongue
enslaved addiction

This powerful image spoke to me in SO many ways.  Lacking time, I took the easy way out with a "modern" haiku.  This is for Magpie Tales #104.

Great modern haiku, that prompt left me with more options than time as well...perhaps I'll return to it now. Brilliant!

A tad pun-nish with the last line ?!?
Ahh well I just got annoyed...

Izzy, I wondered about that last line, not wanting to offend anyone. But I looked it up in the dictionary, and it doesn't only refer to African Americans. And of course, this picture brings up so many thoughts, slavery one of them. Can you IMAGINE this photo being put out there in the 1960's! Wow, we have come a long way since then. (or I most of us have, I hope).

AND I refer to my OWN self here. I warned my whole family NOT to buy me boxes of chocolates because I will think of NOTHING else until they are all gone (usually a 24 hour period) No will power here :)

Plus, it fit the syllable count.
