Magpie Tales #92 "He Kissed Me"

Image used for Magpie Tales #92

He Kissed Me

He kissed me

and I forgot
we were different
as night and day.

He wasn't "safe",
wasn't "perfect".

His future?
An enthusiastic dream.

I could have gone on and on
about his faults,

but those baby blues
left me speechless

and then

he kissed me.

Well, perfect and safe
never made me feel

like that.

I also linked this up to Friday Flash 55 - A story in 55 words, no less, no more!  Try it - it is fun.

This resonates with how I came to be married to The Bug, lol! I think both of us were terrified with the consequences, and please don't ask her to delineate my faults, but, well, it was a helluva kiss. Terrific Magpie :-)

Your lovely poem reminds me of one of my favorite songs from the 60s ... The Ronettes singing 'And Then He Kissed Me.' Lots of dancing to that one.

Why did his film "Sweet Bird of Youth" come to mind?
