The Apology
Implied devotion
spirals from my palms
vase of flowers plucked to thorns
hastily written words
left unread.

This is for "Imaginary Garden with Real Toads - Bits of Inspiration - Floral Explosion". I used this quote for inspiration ""by plucking petals, you do not gather the beauty of the flower" Rabindranath Tagore
"Implied devotion" Yes..a trip to the flower shop or a quick stop to grab a grocery store bouquet can't mend what words won't speak. Thank you so much for taking part in the challenge!
ReplyDeleteAn apology that sounds less sincere.. No reason to accept the thorns of scribbled notes.
ReplyDeleteFlowers aren't always enough.
ReplyDeleteGood intentions not returned with the required expectations can be devastating! Rightly so Margaret!

You describe so well that kind of obdurate mood. Thanks. k.
ReplyDeleteThis almost feels like a haiku of sorts. As there seems to be a turn between the third and fourth line. Though implied devotion and unread, I dunno. I think this could be read a few ways. Ha.
ReplyDeleteSometimes flowers are not enough to make up for an apology.
ReplyDeleteWell captured..!

Sometimes an apology is not enough when all the petals have been torn from the rose.
ReplyDeletehope time heals this situation for both of you
ReplyDeletemuch love...
Gillian - this isn't autobiographical
