Hold Tight
I lightly caress
soft curve of cheek and chin,
a nose boyish,
a brow silky smooth
like the surface of a gentle pond.
My finger paints his morning face,
tickles tips of lashes long,
gently circles soft brown eyes
reflective of hopes and dreams
of we who love him.
Soak in toothless smile
and arms fervently hugging,
close my eyes;
hold tight this moment
of seven year old boy.
of seven year old boy.

Happiness with kids!
ReplyDeleteDoes not every Mom cherish one childhood time of each of her children... you certainly captured that very moment.
ReplyDeleteIt is good to focus on these moments. My older boys would not allow this anymore!
ReplyDeleteWell then.. this certainly depicts your boundless love towards children :D
ReplyDeleteA heart-warming piece!
Lots of love,
Sanaa
A precious moment.. a moment to remember. Boys sometimes seem to harden to something else.. love the softness here.
ReplyDeleteHow absolutely beautiful! (I am the mother of sons - though its a long time since they were seven.)
ReplyDeleteTotal sweetness, bliss.
ReplyDeletehow lovely for you; i have one son, grown to fatherhood; i can remember though still snuggling and reading to him, but at a much younger age than seven; now i rewarded with sweet hugs from my grand daughter
