"Respite"

Respite

Nature's fury
spent and weary -

all await
her gentle sigh.

Margaret Bednar, January 11, 2014

We had such cold here (for North Carolina) and last night rain, rain, rain and a thunderstorm.  I think the sun is promised to show up tomorrow along with temperatures in the mid 50's.  Thats a nice "sigh" for me.

  1. Nothing wrong with a gentle sigh from Mama Nature.

    I love the photograph!

I wrote poems for the "orb" challenge belatedly at both Word Garden and Coal Black's. I hope you'll come by.

  3. My first concern is always for the animals when the weather turns so cold but your horse seems to have a thick winter coat.

    Great lines, Margaret.

  4. You are so right, when a bout of nasty old weather heads away, everyone and everything sighs.

  5. This is not my horse, but one that boards at our barn.

  8. Yes, Margaret, and that horse is waiting too. I think I can see frost on the pasture.

We have a nice warm, in the 70's, day here in the South Gulf Texas today. Our golfing group has a tee time tomorrow but it may not get out of the 60's then.

  17. Ah, but I'll bet it was colder here!!! :-)
We are enjoying a bit of a respite, but then snow is on its way again. Don't mind the snow, but the bitter, can't go outside cold... ugh!

This poem is perfect, and I love the image that you chose to go with it.

  18. Lovely poem, Margaret! We are still waiting for winter here but I know that in the USA you have had more than your share. I am sure you are all waiting for Nature's 'gentle sigh'.
