Becoming
I fell for a boy
wearing an octopus tattoo
became hypnotized
by the way
he moved his ink,
forlorn when he
chose another,
said I was shallow.
Self pity nor sainthood's
for me. Took it upon myself
to become what I love;
I wear it better, anyway.

fun. poignant. and a little scary.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you included an octopus tattoo, and ink. This is a very different kind of love poem for sure.
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely doll ~
ReplyDeleteI like the line of becoming what I love...great prompt Margaret ~ Will get down to writing, thanks ~
This is also a good message to pass on to the girls who created these dolls - to become what they love, not seek it in Silly Boys, hee hee.
ReplyDeletebrilliant, I love it
ReplyDeleteThis is super, Margaret. Love the second and fourth stanzas in particular (tried to choose one, couldn't).

Very late here but once again I love the dolls and prompts. I hope you will post them again as prompts sometime in the future. Also I like the creative direction you took with this octopus woman doll. Glad sainthood and self=pity are not the only choices in life!
