"Goldenrod"

 Goldenrod

Banished from genteel yards,
I find her plumes quite glorious -

blazing boldly with arching heaviness,
pendulously draping gravel path.

Inviting me

to linger like the Monarch butterfly
fluttering and flirting upon Autumnal breeze -

to seek asylum in radiant fields
of magical golden fleece.

  1. I find that weeds often so much more enchanting... maybe I'm a butterfly.

  3. I love it when so-called 'weeds' do this:
    'blazing boldly with arching heaviness,
    pendulously draping gravel path.'

  6. A butterfly asylum. Sounds touch-n-go...but I'd like to touch it. Goldenrod.

  8. I know so many people don't appreciate the weeds, but I do, especially when they are the last blooms to come out before the winter.
