Unpretentious
I long for a window open
to grey mornings and bird-song
where heat
trickles in upon ocean's breeze
and afternoon storms
circle, swirl,
wash songs of ancient wayfarers
to sandy shores
where life's complexity and beauty
I hold in my hand
unpolished.
