Renewal
Softly, Easter Sunday
settles, house quiet,
clothes ironed, starched,
clip-on tie for the youngest.
I know the struggle before me,
of renewal, of purity, of thankfulness;
know it isn't easy
for anyone to maintain,
let alone a five year old boy.

ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful, and I especially love the top photo, him looking at you, so seriously.......beautiful, Margaret. I remember when my boy, now 40, was that age, and the fun of Easter Sunday Easter egg hunts in the backyard! I have one photo of him slamming across the gardenbed on his stomach, like a baseball player into home base, to beat his sister to a chocolate egg!
