Etched
Etched against tomorrow,
back straight, gaze forward,
hers is a portrait
of youth-filled certitude
every dream
is feasible.

ReplyDeleteHey Margaret, your daughter did really well for her first competition. Your/her Oberon is a pretty horse. Does he have a name (of course he does)?
ReplyDeleteI like horses. I rode my Minnie, a white horse with lots of grey little spots, to high school for my first two years. We had a barn there for Min to stay in.
..
Every dream can be achieved ... lovely lines !!!!
ReplyDeleteWhatever happened to youth-filled certitude? Why is it that as we get older we stop dreaming and stop believing that amazing things can happen to and be done by people just like us?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful poem and photgraphs, Margaret.
Loved this. All of it: the words, the sentiment and the picture.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, Margaret. Your poem conveys so much; but adding in the photos makes this post a WOW. Good luck to your daughter.
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful to be witness to a champion in the making. It would be more thrilling for a champion's mother when the time comes. Best of luck for the future! Thanks for sharing, Marge! The pic in the stable is brilliant! So also Oberon!
