A bit of lore and legend I hold in my hand,
of which vampires and demons could not withstand.
Related to the lily and cousin to the leak,
even rumored to add vigor to sexual technique.
This modest stinking rose claims to keep poverty away;
with excellent health an added bonus. Oh, how can I betray
such loyal, steadfast cloves? Toss you in the dish I must,
and pray that bad breath will not my love disgust!

This is for "Magpie Tales". A new prompt comes out either Monday or Tuesday of each week, so this one almost didn't get finished in time. It was really a challenge for me to do this one as I insisted on working with rhyming. I also entered this in One Stop Poetry's "One Shot Wednesday". I read in one book that the garlic is also related to the lily. So, I thought I would throw in one more photo of my beautiful lilies.
The poem made me laugh! Thanks, I needed that. Just read a post from a dear fellow blogger that lost a sweet canine this weekend. Thanks for the added lily beauty too... :)

I've tried to comment several times earlier today, but the system wouldn't work for me. Hopefully, it will go through this time. In any event, I just wanted to say that garlic, leeks, and lilies provide most of what is needed for a good life, especially the garlic. Love the photo of the lily.
