Replaced it with a hastily thunk up alternative but will give it further thought.

The whole poem has been understood in a different way than I intended. The apples were supposed to be a metaphor for actual vampires thoughts of what blood tastes like. A spin on the popular "tastes like chicken" phrase. I will say, however, that "slaughter" doesn't sound right to me, here. I know it's a list word, but it denotes (to me, at least) unrestrained violence, and the rest of the poem--and seductive vampires in general--are smoother than that. Just a thought. Otherwise, I loved it. The notion of mixing the theme of apples with vampires is wholly original and it worked!Fireblossomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07040525704916368792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3074509503476824621.post-88969140967613096582014-10-24T13:37:03.190-04:002014-10-24T13:37:03.190-04:00Yup! i always think like ths when biting intoan a...Yup! i always think like ths when biting intoan apple ! Probably the main reason I didn't write one (I do keep another blog too, more of a social, meme type).

Then I hit the last line and it hit my spot. I can be goofy, but I sometimes tell people that when the full moon comes I howl to it and my fangs come out. Sometimes I bite.

The picture is great too, each basket is labeled with the type of apples it has.
